Welcome

The Sage Fund is a student-led project that provides financial support for projects that reduce the University of Arizona's negative impact on the environment and save the campus money. We are supported by donations which are administered through a student-majority governance board.

SAGE is not only a different shade of green than traditionally used to promote environmentalism, but the color is also something we are familiar with in the Sonoran desert; it is a reminder of what we don't want to lose. We think in a different shade of Green - we want to support innovative local projects to shape the University of Arizona into an environmentally sustainable campus which leads by example and protects the environment and resources in the beautiful desert where we all live.

The SAGE Fund raises seed money to fund cost saving projects that make the University of Arizona's campus more environmentally sustainable.

Sage Fund FAQs

Who can submit a project?

Any student, staff or faculty member of the University of Arizona. You must be campus-affiliated; no outside individuals or organizations may submit projects.

What does the Committee fund?

  • Student research
  • Renewable energy
  • Water conservation
  • Energy Efficiency
  • Internships
  • Marketing and arts
  • And more!

How do I know that my donations will be spent productively?

We consider ourselves accountable to the student body and university, therefore we make all of our records available to the public, as well as issue an annual report of our activities to the ASUA Senate, GPSC, and the Chair of Sustainability Steering Committee. All funded projects are accountable for the money which they are given as well.
